Suzi Analogue - She's Soooooo NNXT Level!

I first met Suzi Analogue styling Wayna's New Scenery music video, as part of the Black Lily Girls Workshop. I knew I had seen her before this face to face introduction. We quickly realized we were both featured in Jenerio Jarel's Ghetto Dreaming video, directed by our mutual homegirl/ soul sista/ insanely dope video director V-Chip. At the shoot, I was drawn to Suzi's zen personality, and eclectic personal style. As we talked, I knew she was on another level. Our conversation drifted from universal law, to the beauty/ meaning of life and of course, our love for our work/art. I had never heard her music before our interaction on set, but I went home and found her myspace page and was in musical heaven. Totally my vibe! Soulful vocals, electro break beats, amazing harmonies and dope lyrics. These songs made me an instant fan of her work: NNXT Message ~ Hotness!! Milky Way ~ Love, love, love!! As I learned more about Suzi, my initial thoughts of her being next level were confirmed ~ She's an international media branding genius, and she's seriously committed to the exploration of her art. Suzi Analogue is definitely one to watch. Support Suzi, and her music ! <3

LOTA&C Q&A with SUZI ANALOG

1.PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF.
Suzi Analogue // Songmaker, beatbaker, creator.

2. WHAT DO YOU CREATE?
All media. All formats. Best known now for music though.

3. WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO CREATE?
Everything. Day to day. Global culture, talks with friends, magazines, paintings and other visual art, the possibility of what can be. You have to stay inspired as an artist.

4. HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A LIVING BEING YOUR AUTHENTIC, CREATIVE SELF?
I'm able to keep going by knowing that people are connecting to what I do, what i'm saying or playing out. That's a strong push. In the last year, I have met and collaborated with some of the most excellent new artists the world will soon love in my opinion. It is dope being part of a world collective.

5. WHAT NEW PROJECTS ARE YOU WORKING ON? I am just wrapping up a project called NNXT [next]. It is one of my first focused releases and will be released as a vinyl with Dopeness Galore Records, Amsterdam. As a thank you to everyone who has been listening so far, I am releasing a tape called the NNXTAPE in analogue and digital formats. This means, that if you have a Walkman, it's time to bring that back out for a minute.

The NNXTAPE is a look into my musical intentions, and also a peek into my creative process. It conveys messages of self-discovery that I've learned since starting out with music, traveling, and just learning about the world with a progressive mindframe. It is about expansion.
Think about it like one of those tapes or a mix your best friend makes you after coming up on something really dope that they'd want to share with you. That's the approach I took to making the NNXTAPE. To create the tape, I selected some of my favourite beats that I've been playing or hearing throughout the course of a year- some even longer. Production includes : everyone. From some of the freshest new beatmakers in the LA circuit, to Sweden, Amsterdam and of course Philly. It's global music.

The NNXTAPE will be released in two parts, first in analogue on cassette August 17th and digitally for free download on August 24th.
At that time you can also pre-order my 7" vinyl with Georgia Anne Mulrow called The Program. On the B-side is a self-produced song called "The Thing". I am also starting on a solo LP, and a collaborative LP with LA's lady on the beats TOKiMONSTA, and a few duo EP's that I'm pretty excited for. This all definitely keeps me moving.
